Exterior cleaning in Huntington Beach
Surf City homes, from the Harbour to Seacliff
Huntington Beach covers a lot of ground. Huntington Harbour is built around five man-made islands, with boat docks behind many of the houses. Downtown's numbered streets hold the oldest and densest housing near the pier. Seacliff and Edwards Hill sit around the golf course, and the big tract neighborhoods spread inland from there. Most of it is stucco walls, tile or composition roofs and plenty of glass, and almost all of it gets the onshore breeze.
That breeze carries salt. It dries on west-facing windows as a milky film, settles on solar panels, and mixes with marine layer moisture to feed the dark mildew you see on north walls and under eaves. Sprinklers add hard-water spots to lower glass and stucco. None of it is dramatic on its own. Together, over a year, it makes a clean house look tired.
We work top to bottom. Tile roofs get a low-pressure soft wash, so water is never forced under the tiles. Stucco gets soft washed, concrete gets a surface cleaner, gutters are hand scooped and flushed, and solar is rinsed with purified water. Windows come last, so nothing we do upstream lands on clean glass. Near the water we usually suggest windows every two to three months.
“Kyle and his team were friendly, polite, and detailed. They got my windows and screens sparkling inside and out!”
What we see in Huntington Beach
- 01
Salt film on ocean-facing glass
West and south facing windows collect a hazy salt film that a garden hose won't shift. We clean the glass, frames and sills, then tell you honestly how fast it will come back.
- 02
Mildew on the shady side
Marine layer moisture keeps north walls and eaves damp, so black and green growth shows up there first. A soft wash treats it at the root instead of blasting the stucco.
- 03
Water on two sides in the Harbour
Harbour homes take wind off the ocean and moisture off the channel behind them. We plan access around docks and narrow side yards and protect the landscaping before we start.

FAQ
Huntington Beach: questions, answered.
Something else on your mind? Call or text (949) 371-6307.
Do you work in Huntington Harbour?
Yes. Harbour homes are among the most exposed in the city, with water behind the house as well as wind off the ocean. We plan around docks and tight side yards, and we follow the same top-to-bottom order as anywhere else, with the glass done last.
Is Sunset Beach part of Huntington Beach now?
Yes. Huntington Beach annexed Sunset Beach in August 2011. We still treat it as its own stretch of coast, because those homes sit between the ocean and the Harbour and usually need cleaning more often. Our Sunset Beach page has the details.
How often should I wash a stucco house in Huntington Beach?
Once a year is a good baseline. Homes close to the sand often need it every six to nine months, especially on the north and west walls where mildew and salt build up first. We'll tell you what we see when we quote.
