Window Cleaning

Where we started.

Titan began as a small window cleaning service, and glass is still the work we're most particular about. Near the coast, salt carried on the onshore breeze settles on every window and mixes with marine layer moisture into a film that holds dust and pollen. Sprinklers add hard-water spots to the lower panes. Glass can look hazy again within weeks, which is why coastal windows need regular attention.

We clean exterior glass with deionized water. Tap water leaves minerals behind when it dries; deionized water doesn't, so the glass dries spot-free. For second-story windows we use water-fed poles from the ground whenever possible, which keeps the crew off ladders and the job safer. We clean inside and out, and screens can be cleaned on the same visit.

How we do it

How we clean windows

Deionized water and water-fed poles

Exterior glass is cleaned with deionized water, which has the minerals stripped out so it dries without spots or streaks. Second-story windows are reached with water-fed poles from the ground whenever possible: a brush on the end of a long pole, fed with pure water. Fewer ladders means a safer job, with the same result on the glass.

  1. 01

    Screens off first

Screens are removed and numbered so each one goes back on the right window, and cleaned if you've added them.

  2. 02

    Exterior glass

Each pane is scrubbed and rinsed with deionized water. Upper floors are done from the ground with water-fed poles where possible.

  3. 03

    Frames, sills and tracks

We wipe the frames and sills and clear sand and grit out of the tracks.

  4. 04

    Interior glass

When you book inside and out, interior panes are cleaned by hand.

  5. 05

    Screens back on

Every screen goes back on its own window, in the right orientation.

FAQ

Window Cleaning: questions, answered.

Something else on your mind? Call or text (949) 371-6307.

How often should windows be cleaned near the beach?

Every 2 to 3 months for most coastal homes. Salt film and marine layer haze build back up faster than they do inland, so glass close to the water dulls quickly. Storefronts and offices often schedule more often to stay presentable.

Why do you use deionized water?

Tap water carries minerals that are left behind as spots when it dries. Deionized water has those minerals removed, so it rinses clean and dries spot-free. It's the difference between glass that looks clean up close and glass that looks clean in full sun.

How do you clean second-story windows?

With water-fed poles from the ground whenever possible. A brush on the end of a long pole is fed with deionized water, so we can scrub and rinse upper windows without climbing. It's safer for the crew and gives the same result.

Can you remove sprinkler spots?

Fresh hard-water spots from sprinklers usually come off in a normal clean. Spots that have been baking on for years can etch into the glass and may not come off completely. We'll look at them first and tell you honestly what to expect.

Do you clean inside windows too?

Yes. We clean home windows inside and out, and storefront and office glass for businesses. Tell us what you'd like done when you ask for a quote and we'll include it.

Do you clean the screens?

Yes. Screens are removed, numbered, cleaned flat and reinstalled on the right window. Screen cleaning can be added to any window visit. Clean glass behind a dirty screen still looks dirty, so most people do both.
